Beer and Blog Boise

Starting now, Beer & Blog will be at 5:00 on Tuesdays at the Falcon Tavern.  It should be a good change for a number of reasons.

Location

The Front Door is a great pub.  They serve a bunch of hard-to-find beers on a hyperactive rotation in proper glassware at proper temperatures.  I love ‘em, and I’ll keep going there.  Their wi-fi isn’t quite up to snuff and their beer selection can be a bit daunting for casual beer drinkers.  I know, I know, they have a full bar.  But they don’t have yellow beer, and they don’t have Guinness (for @daveredford).  Personally, I’m not remotely put off by either case, but it has been an issue for others.  The Falcon has easy beer for most folks and a solid rotation of micros & seasonals for the rest of us.

Day

Tuesdays are great.  Thursdays is prime real estate for events like Ignite, First Thursday, Kickstand, BYP, etc.  Mondays are a chore and no pint will change that.  Wednesdays…well Wednesdays may have worked pretty well, too.  Tuesdays are a good day since the week is rolling along strong and it’s time for a beer break.  Plus, @LGM1 has class in PDX on Tuesdays, so there’s an added bonus!

Really, it comes down to the fact that Tuesdays aren’t Fridays.  Fridays seemed to interfere with people’s early weekend plans.  Plus, there aren’t many happy hours on Fridays.  The Falcon has $2 pints until 6:00 on weekdays, so that’s a big bonus.  Grab a couple pints and a cup of their kick-ass Irish potato soup or cajun fries, and Tuesday is complete.

As always, blogging is not required (and is seldom ever done, honestly).  @daveredford and I hang out and talk about hacks.  @reuseum or @a73x swing through some time and get all gadget geeky.  @lgm1 & @krissaw talk about economics & policy stuffs.
